Sr. Technical Specialists – are responsible for supporting, troubleshooting and implementing all aspects of multiple clients’ environments. Responsibilities include providing primary and 2nd level hardware, software and network support for firewalls, servers and workstations, and following change control processes for resolution and documentation of issues. Specialists works very closely with end-users and I.T. peers with varying degrees of technical skills in performance of their work. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving network, server and firewall problems and requests from users within established service level agreements. Also installing, configuring and troubleshooting network, server and firewall systems and associated software.

Learn the Discovery IT culture, policies and procedures, and technical trouble shooting requirements to be able to assist customers. – Provide 2nd level technical support. – Troubleshoot problems with network connectivity, web access, e-mail access and Microsoft Server, Exchange, SQL/Oracle database connectivity. Work across teams to pull people together to identify root cause and recommend a solution to the team. – Document fixes and share knowledge base. Understand where inconsistencies are within processes or the environment and bring forward ideas for improvements.

Education: Associates Degree in IT-related field desired, or equivalent education and/or related work experience. Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates): Fortinet and Microsoft Certifications highly desirable. Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting network, server and firewall systems in business setting. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: – Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills – Must exhibit superior customer service skills. Must always be customer focused. – Ability to communicate effectively – Ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
